IMPACT JOURNEY OF A CAPITAL HOLDER

SARA’S JOURNEY BEGINS

MAPPING THE ROUTE AT THE WAIC TRAVEL AGENCY

Sara arrives at WAIC with a clear sense of purpose but an open mind. She knows she wants to contribute to women’s rights, yet she seeks guidance to sharpen her focus and translate her values into meaningful ways to put her capital to use.

Together, we shape her Today profile—comprising her personal values, questions, and ambitions. We explore the role she wants to play, whether as a supporter, investor, or advocate, and identify what she needs to feel confident in her decisions.

From here, we design a personalized roadmap, selecting the islands that will best support her journey. For Sara, we see Connections Island as a crucial first step, followed by Women’s Island, where she can immerse herself in gender equality initiatives. As she refines her strategy, she’ll return to Connections Island for deeper engagement before moving toward Advisory & Support Island, ensuring she feels empowered to act.

Throughout her journey, Sara can count on WAIC as her trusted companion, adjusting course as needed and providing support at every step.

CONNECTION ISLAND

Sara’s journey starts at Connections Island, where she meets like-minded Capital Holders who, like her, are still exploring their role in impact investing. Through Exploration Clubs, she connects with peers who share their experiences, helping her navigate the landscape and build confidence in her own path.

These peer-to-peer exchanges allow her to ask questions freely, without pressure to have all the answers. She realizes she is not alone—others have walked this path before her, and their insights help her move forward with greater clarity.

WOMEN’S ISLAND

To deepen her understanding of gender-focused impact investing, Sara arrives at Women’s Island. Here, she steps into the world of women’s rights organizations, female entrepreneurs, and pioneers in gender equality and inclusivity.

Through guided field explorations, she meets changemakers who are reshaping opportunities for women, gaining first-hand insight into the impact of different approaches. These conversations not only broaden her perspective but also help her develop a sense of trust—she begins to recognize which initiatives align with her vision and values.

Her journey on Women’s Island is not just about observation; it’s about building the confidence to act.

CONNECTION ISLAND

With a clearer sense of direction, Sara returns to Connections Island, this time to build strategic relationships with experienced investors and pioneers in gender equality.

She begins to speak the language of women’s rights organizations, understanding the nuances of funding models, partnership structures, and impact measurement. More importantly, she learns to separate genuine, high-impact initiatives from surface-level efforts—helping her make informed, intentional choices.

These targeted connections reinforce her growing intuition, equipping her with the knowledge she needs to take her next steps with confidence.

ADVISORY & SUPPORT ISLAND

Now ready to turn her insights into action, Sara travels to Advisory & Support Island, where she refines her personal impact approach.

Portfolio Guidance: Together, we review her first investment opportunities, ensuring they align with her values and impact goals. She learns that she doesn’t need to master every financial detail—she can trust her instincts, supported by expert guidance where needed.

Team & Family Involvement: While Sara is comfortable making independent decisions, she wonders how to engage her family and team in a way that feels natural. We facilitate strategic workshops that help create a shared language and vision, allowing her to bring others along on her journey—without compromising her own clarity.

Through Companionship Sessions, we continue to offer support, addressing questions as they arise and providing new insights to help her stay on course.

CARRYING FORWARD HER OWN PATH

As Sara nears the end of this phase of her journey, she no longer feels the need to stay deeply connected to the entire impact field. She has found her own way—bringing women together, facilitating conversations about rights, inclusivity and empowerment, and trusting her intuition to guide her investment decisions.

Unlike some explorers, Sara doesn’t need impact reports or team validation—she has gained the confidence to follow her instincts. She understands the space, she knows the players, and she trusts herself to make decisions that feel right.

Her Tomorrow profile consists not of rigid frameworks but of a deep sense of self-assurance. And while her journey continues, she now walks her path on her own terms.

THE JOURNEY NEVER TRULY ENDS

While Sara has found her own way, she knows she is always welcome back to WAIC’s islands—whether for new inspiration, strategic guidance, or simply to reconnect with fellow explorers.

At the same time, her journey doesn’t just serve her—it inspires others. Future travelers may find value in her insights, and she may one day be the one offering guidance—perhaps as a guest on Inspiration Island, sharing her story, or by providing mentorship to new explorers finding their way in the world of impact.
